CUMBERLAND Oliver R. Winebrenner, 79, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born on Nov. 7, 1919, in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie R. and Cora V. (Swadley)Winebrenner. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ivan Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner was retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, where he was a powder operator. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marian (Wheeler) Winebrenner; four children, Charlotte Pyles, Morgantown, W.Va., Carolyn Brown and husband, Frank, Conowingo, Irvin Winebrenner and wife, Suzan, and Christine Hailer and husband, Arthur, Monrovia; 11 grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Winebrenner, Erie, Pa. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Dickel, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to either Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Knobley St., Ridgeley, W.Va., 26753 or to the charity of one's choice.

Va., and Oliver Winebrenner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawney Wlnebrenner, were married Sunday at the Winebrenner home by the Rev. Kenneth Plummer, pastor of Calvary Methodist Church, Ridgeley, W. Va. Marian M. Winebrenner, formerly of Bowling Green and Seton Drive, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Golden Living Center, Cumberland. The daughter of the late Gertrude May (Saville) and E. Thomas Wheeler, Marian was born Dec. 17, 1921, in Ridgeley, W.Va. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver R. Winebrenner; a son, Ivan Winebrenner; and her sister, Pauline Wilkinson. She was a 1939 graduate of Ridgeley High School and belonged to Calvary United Methodist Church. A beloved wife, mother, and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Marian had a keen mind and enjoyed listening to piano and Big Band music and watching movies of the 1930's and 1940's. She was an avid reader, bird watcher, arm chair traveler, and seamstress in her early years. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Pyles and husband, John, Carolyn Brown and husband, Frank, and Christine Hailer and husband, Arthur; her son, Irvin Winebrenner and wife, Suzan; and a special niece, Iris Wilkinson. Iris was always there for Marian when her children could not be. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Deanna Hanna, Mary Smith, Rebecca Clark, Michael Winebrenner, Gregory Winebrenner, Rebecca Aiken, Andrew Hailer, Eric Hailer, Karen Hailer, Kurt Winebrenner, and Marilyn Carroll; and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Jewell, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 354, Ridgeley, WV 26753. Lonnie R. Winebrenner, 70, of Wrights Lane, Bowling Green, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted on Tuesday. He had been in failing health for several months. Born in Mt. Savage, he was a son of the late William S. and Susan (Hutzel) Winebrenner. He was a retired Celanese Fibers Company employe and a member of Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his widow, Cora V. (Swadley) Winebrenner; a son, Oliver R. Winebrenner, Bowling Green; six sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Rice, Mrs: Sarah Bowers, Mrs. Louise Witt, Mrs. Elean'ora Winebrenner, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Susanne Trimble, Corriganville and Mrs. Viola Deal, Frostburg; three brothers, Ralph Winebrenner, Mt. Savage; Clinton Winebrenner, Hyndman, and Wilbert Winebrenner, Baltimore. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 until 9 -p.m. and tomorrow from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.
