Preceded in death by parents and sister Jennie Weiss. Survived by wife of 55 years, Ethel (Swearman) Martincic; daughters, Jean wife of Thomas P. Haus of Lancaster and Kim Martincic of Long Island City, N.Y., and three grandchildren. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the B&O Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a founding member of the Pine Turn Rod and Gun Club in Black Township. He was a member of the American Legion Post 279 in Rockwood, the VFW Post 7295 in Berlin, and the FOE Aerie 1188 in Latrobe. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor George Mason officiating.     Ethel M. Martincic, 93, Rockwood, passed on March 1, 2012, in Lancaster. Born Aug. 3, 1918, in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Smeak) Swearmann. She is also preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Martincic in 2001; brother Charles Swearmann; and sisters, Gladys Critchfield and Elaine Miller. Ethel was a homemaker. She was a 1936 graduate of Meyersdale High School and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Rockwood. She is survived by her daughters, Jean M. Haus and husband Thomas, and Kim L. Gadow and husband Yasser; and three grandchildren. A graveside committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Union Cemetery in Meyersdale.     Jacob Smeak, one of this county's pioneer citizens, died at his home near Hyndman, last Thursday, from a complication of diseases, aged 59 years. He was highly respected in that community, and his kind and jolly disposition won for him a large circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Annie Hosselrode of Cook's Mills, and William, Charles, Harry, Emma, Ruth and Susan, at home. The funeral services were held Saturday in the Reformed church, Rev. J. F. Kerlin, pastor, officiating. The interment was made in Hyndman cemetery. Mrs. Smeaks was the widow of Jacob Smeaks, deceased 26 years, and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Emma Wilhelm, of Buffalo Mills, Mrs. Ruth Swearman and Mrs. Susie Swearman and Mrs. Lyndman of Myersdale; Mrs. Annie Mason and Harry Smeaks of Hyndman,
