    Raymond E. "Skane" Minnick, 78, of Schellsburg Street, Hyndman, died Monday, July 11, 1988, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born in Hyndman Nov. 8, 1909, a son of the late Howard and Gertrude May (Porter) Minnick. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle M. Smeak Minnick, who died March 23, 1983; a son, Lloyd J. Minnick; a daughter, Grace M. Minnick, and two brothers, Homer and Robert Minnick. He is survived by four sons: Robert E. Minnick, Buffalo Mills RD 1; Raymond E. Minnick, Ellerslie, Md.; Richard D. Minnick, Sr., Hyndman, and Reggie K. Minnick, Phillippi, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers: Frank, Kenneth and Earl Minnick, all of Hyndman; Lloyd Minnick of Ellerslie, Md., and Guy Minnick of Akron, Ohio; and two sisters: Mrs. Ida Mae Malone, Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Geraldine Kennell, Hyndman RD 1. Mr. Minnick was a retired worker of Block 3, Acetate Department, of the Amcell plant of Celanese Corp., Cumberland, Md. He was a member of Faith Community Church and the Hyndman Rod and Gun Club. Funeral services: Thursday, July 14, at 11 a.m. in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with Rev. Terry L. Campbell officiating. Burial in Hyndman Cemetery. She was born in Hyndman Jan. 8, 1913 and was a daughter of the late Harry Smeak and Lillian (Poorbaugh) Smeak. She was a member of the Fairhope Community Church and the Senior Citizens of Hyndman. She is survived by her husband, Raymond E. Minnick; five sons: Richard D. Minnick Sr. and Reggie K. Minnick, both of Hyndman; Robert E. Minnick of Kittanning; Lloyd J. Minnick, Hyndman RD and Raymond E. Minnick, Jr., Ellerslie, Md.; a brother, Russell Smeak, Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Susie Stanley, Mount Morris, Mich.; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were conducted in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Leroy Logsdon and the Rev. Timothy Stamper officiating. Interment was in Hyndman Cemetery.     HYNDMAN, Pa. - Henry Ellsworth Smeak, 57, a B. and O. employe, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. A lifelong resident of this community, Mr. Smeak was a son of the late Jacob and Martha (Logsdon) Smeak. His wife, the former Lilly Poorbaugh, preceded him in death. He was a member of the B. and O. Brotherhood. Surviving are three sons, Ralph, Reginald and Russell Smeak, all of Hyndman; three daughters, Mrs. Suzie Cook, Mrs. Myrtle Minnick, and Mrs. Helen Conners, also of Hyndman; and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Mason, Hyndman, and Mrs. Ruth Swearman and Mrs. Suzie Lindeman, Meyersdale. Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p. m. in Ziegler's Funeral Home with Rev. John Bucker, pastor of Hyndman Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hyndman Cemetery.     Jacob Smeak, one of this county's pioneer citizens, died at his home near Hyndman, last Thursday, from a complication of diseases, aged 59 years. He was highly respected in that community, and his kind and jolly disposition won for him a large circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Annie Hosselrode of Cook's Mills, and William, Charles, Harry, Emma, Ruth and Susan, at home. The funeral services were held Saturday in the Reformed church, Rev. J. F. Kerlin, pastor, officiating. The interment was made in Hyndman cemetery. Mrs. Smeaks was the widow of Jacob Smeaks, deceased 26 years, and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Emma Wilhelm, of Buffalo Mills, Mrs. Ruth Swearman and Mrs. Susie Swearman and Mrs. Lyndman of Myersdale; Mrs. Annie Mason and Harry Smeaks of Hyndman,
    and William, at home; she also leaves three brothers: Benjamin, Wm. L., and Charles Logsdon, all of Hyndman. The Bedford Gazette, February 19, 1932
