HYNDMAN, Pa. — Armenta C. Lowery, 85, of R.D. 1, Hyndman, Pa., died Friday, Sept. 9, 1994, at Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg, Pa. Born Aug. 14, 1909 at Stringtown, Londonderry Township, Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Ella Blanche (Kinton) Stair. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. Lowery, who died Oct. 21, 1972; a son, Kenneth Lowery; three brothers, George, Rolf and and Edwin Stair and two sisters, Frances Rizer and Doris Haines. Mrs. Lowery was a member of Cooks Mills United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Darrell L. Lowery, Woodbridge, Va. and Dennis L. Lowery, New Paris, Pa.; a daughter, Marlene M. McGough, Johnstown, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Lowery, Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Allen Stair, Brunswick, Md.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Saturday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger A. Johnson and the Rev.
