Earl Russell Martin, 59, of Somerset RD 5, died Feb. 9, 1976, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was born in National, Md., March 28, 1916. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Harry D. and Bessie (Harvey) Martin, Somerset RD 5. He was a veteran of World War II. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be held Friday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Charles J. Hartbauer officiating. Interment, Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg, Md. Bessie O. Martin, 91, of Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin, formerly of Somerset RD 5, died July 30, 1988, in the manor. Born in Jennings, Md., May 18, 1897, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey M. Harvey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D., and one son, Earl; also by 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Frostburg, Feb. 17 — Mrs. Anna Martens, 60, wife of Henry Martens, Youngstown, O., and the former Miss Anna Shell, a native of Mt. Savage, died suddenly yesterday from a heart attack. Fifteen years ago she moved with her family to Youngstown. She lived at National for many years. Besides her husband she leaves four grown sons and daughters, all of Youngstown. She was a sister of Mrs. Christopher Martens, Youngstown; Mrs. William Murray, Cumberland, and Mrs. George Lynch, Mt. Savage. She was a member of the Methodist Church. The funeral will be held in Youngstown tomorrow afternoon. The Cumberland Evening Times, February 17, 1937
