    A national miner was fatally injured when run over by a Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad coal train in sight of his home and five others were injured in two automobile accidents last night. The miner, who died at Miner's Hospital, Frostburg, at 11:15 p.m., a few hours after being hit, was Gibson Matthews, 41. A miner at coal mine 17 of the Consolidation Coal Company located in Klondike, Matthews had spent the afternoon away from home and was on his way back, taking a commonly used shortcut along the railroad tracks, when he was struck. His left leg was amputated below the knee. A train crew called a Frostburg ambulance to take Matthews to the hospital. Matthews is survived by his mother, Mrs. Viola Matthews, of Pekin; his wife, Mrs. Stella Crawford Matthews, and four children, Pvt. Gibson DeWayne Matthews, Camp Edwards, Mass.; LaVerne, Joan, and Dale, at home.

    MOSCOW — Mrs. Stella Reel, 80, Masontown, W.Va., formerly of Moscow, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born March 10, 1908, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Jane (Winebrenner) Crawford. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Gibson Matthews and William Reel. Surviving are one daughter, Laverne Thomas, Bretts, W.Va.; one son, Dale Matthews, Morgantown, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.     Lonaconoing - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Crawford, 55 years old, of Moscow, this county, who died in Miners Hospital, Frostburg, Tuesday, will be held from the Pentacostal Church, here, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow. Rev. Shewbridge, pastor, will officiate. Mrs. Crawford died following an operation for the amputation of a leg, which followed the amputation of the other one, with pneumonia held as partly responsible for her demise. She was a daughter of the late Susannah and James Winebrenner of Mt. Savage. She lived in Moscow for 13 years, going there from Mt. Savage. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Broadwater, Moscow; Mrs. Gibson Matthews, Morgantown, W.
