MORANTOWN — John “Pappy" Harden, 86, of Morantown, died Friday, Oct. 7, 1994, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Among the survivors are a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harden, and three step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg on Sunday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. Pallbearers will be Gene Harden, Eugene Harden, George Geary, Jack Geary, Justin Geary and “Sonny” Guthrie. Cumberland Sunday Times, October 9, 1994

She died on 24 Apr 1960 at the age of 75 in Zihlman, Allegany Co., Maryland. FROSTBURG — Mrs. May Edna (Logsdon) Steele, 75, wife of Herman C. Steele, died yesterday at her home in Zihlman. She had been in ill health for two years. She was a native of Mt. Savage, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rachel (Folk) Logsdon. Also surviving are five sons, William H. Steele, Keyser; Herman F. Steele, Mt. Savage; Elmer T. Steele, Zihlman; Charles A. Steele, New Philadelphia, Ohio, and James L. Steele, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Leo Grabenstein, Cumberland; Mrs. Mary Porter, Zihlman; Mrs. John Harden, Morantown, and Mrs. George Wright, Eckhart, 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Steele was a member of Zihlman Methodist Church. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home here. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the funeral home by Rev. Brooks Henry and Rev. Leonard Wright. Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.
