George W. Wilhelm, aged 76, a retired farmer, died Monday morning at his home in Mann's Choice, Pa. A native of Hyndman, Pa., Mr. Wilhelm was a son of the late George W. and Rebecca Logsdon Wilhelm. His wife was the late Mrs. Emma Smeaks Wilhelm. He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Leslie and Ernest Wilhelm, at home; Reggie Wilhelm, Hyndman, and Mrs. Dorothy Sheirer, Buffalo Mills, Pa.; two half- brothers, Howard Beals, Lost City, W.Va., and William Beals, Hyndman; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Grace Burkett, Cumberland, and Mrs. Daisy Snyder, Hyndman. Hyndman, September 3 - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Florence Wilhelm, 67, wife of George Wilhelm, who died Sunday afternoon at her home in Milligan's Cove, after an illness of several months, will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in Milligan's Cove cemetery. Mrs. Wilhelm was a native of Bedford county and a daughter of the late Jacob and Martha (Logsdon) Smeak. She held membership in the Lutheran church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sheirer, of Buffalo Mills; three sons, Leslie and Ernest Wilhelm, at home, and Reggie Wilhelm, of Hyndman; three sisters, Mrs. James S. Avermail and Mrs. Henry Lindaman, both of Meyersdale; and Mrs. Annie Mason, of Hyndman, and a brother, Harry, also of Hyndman. The Cumberland Evening Times, September 3, 1946

Mrs. Emma Florence (Smeak) Wilhelm, 67, of Buffalo Mills R.D. died at her home at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1. She was the wife of George Wilhelm and had been a lifelong resident of the Buffalo Mills section. She was born Jan. 22, 1879, a daughter of Jacob and Martha (Logsdon) Smeak. Her husband survives, along with these children: Leslie and Ernest, both at home; Mrs. Dorothy Sheirey, Buffalo Mills, and Ridgie Wilhelm, Hyndman. She was a sister of Harry Smeak, Hyndman; Mrs. James Werner, Meyersdale; Mrs. Henry Lindeman, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Annie Mason, Hyndman. Mrs. Wilhelm was a member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Milligan's Cove Christian Church. Burial was made in the church cemetery under the direction of Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Jacob Smeak, one of this county's pioneer citizens, died at his home near Hyndman, last Thursday, from a complication of diseases, aged 59 years. He was highly respected in that community, and his kind and jolly disposition won for him a large circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Annie Hosselrode of Cook's Mills, and William, Charles, Harry, Emma, Ruth and Susan, at home. The funeral services were held Saturday in the Reformed church, Rev. J. F. Kerlin, pastor, officiating. The interment was made in Hyndman cemetery. The deceased was a member of Lodge 483 K. of P. of Hyndman. The Bedford Gazette, December 14, 1906

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Smeaks, 75 years old, who died Feb. 11, were held Saturday at her home about one mile south of Hyndman, Rev. M. V. Kelly, officiating. Interment was made in Hyndman cemetery. Mrs. Smeaks was the widow of Jacob Smeaks, deceased 26 years, and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Emma Wilhelm, of Buffalo Mills, Mrs. Ruth Swearman and Mrs. Susie Swearman and Mrs. Lyndman of Myersdale; Mrs. Annie Mason and Harry Smeaks of Hyndman,
and William, at home; she also leaves three brothers: Benjamin, Wm. L., and Charles Logsdon, all of Hyndman. The Bedford Gazette, February 19, 1932
