Roy Carl Clites, 86, of Ellerslie, Maryland, died early Sunday morning, October 14, 1979, in Memorial Hospital in Cumberland. He was born September 4, 1893, at Hyndman, R.D. 1, a son of the late Daniel Clites and Sarah (Porter) Clites. He was married to Lula (Snowden) Clites who preceded him in death on October 2, 1970. Surviving are four sons, Paul M. Clites, of Duncansville; Montell Clites, of Hyndman; Roy Clites Jr., of Detroit, Michigan; and Ronald S. Clites, of Hyndman, R.D. 1; and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Jean Liebegott, of Duncansville. A sister, Mrs. Nina Bohn, of Hyndman, R.D. 1, also survives, along with 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The Bedford Gazette, October 15, 1979

Lulu Carrie Rea Clites, Ellerslie, Md., 76, died in the Cumberland Memorial Hospital Fri., Oct. 2, 1970. She was born July 1, 1894, in Imlertown, a daughter of the late George W. and Anna Myrtle (Smith) Snowden. She is survived by her husband, Roy C. Clites, Sr., and five children, Paul M., Duncansville RD 1, G. Montell Clites, Hyndman RD 1, Roy Clites Jr., Detroit, Mich., Anna Jean Liebegott, Duncansville, and Ronald S. Clites, Ellerslie, Md. A brother, Harry M. Snowden, LaVale, Md., and a sister, Mrs. Charles E. Wilson, Ellerslie, Md., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. She was a member of Redeemers United Church of Christ, Ellerslie. Funeral services: Mon., Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. in the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Douglas Borko and the Rev. Milton W. Mrs. Sarah Catherine Clites, 83, of near Ellerslie, widow of Daniel Clites, died at her home early this morning. Four sons, Charles, William, Albert and Roy Clites, and two daughters, Mrs. Anna Lowery and Mrs. Nina Bohn, survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at the home at 2:30 p.m. Rev. D. B. Groves, pastor of the Ellerslie M. E. Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Cook's Mills, Pa. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 1, 1937

In probating the estate of Mary Ann Porter, items sold at auction went to (among others) Nicholas Burkett, John Beals, Sam Lowrey, Daniel Devore, John E. Porter, Moses Porter, Leonard Porter. This shows some of the neighbors in the area.

On June 26th, 1855, Mary Ann petitions the Register of Bedford County: "I, Mary Ann Porter, do hereby decline administrating upon the estate of my late husband, Wm. N. Porter, and request you to grant letters to Mr. Thomas J. Porter
upon said estate." Attested to by James Harden. Filed July 3, 1855.

November 20, 1857. Came into Court Thomas J. Porter, administrator of the
estate of Wm. N. Porter, late of Londonderry Township, deceased, and produced a certified copy of the account of his administration on the estate of said deceased as passed by the Register of Bedford County by which it appears there remains in the hand of said accountant the sum of three hundred dollars and fifty seven cents with interest from the 20th day of Nov. A.D. 1857. And it appearing to the Court that notice had been given according to the Act of _______ the same was confirmed and distribution awarded according to law.
