Mrs. Catherine Burley, 64 years old, wife of Perry Burley, died at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday evening at her home on the Swaugertown road after a brief illness of complications. Mrs. Burley was born at Hyndman and had resided in Connellsville township for the past 25 years. She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Ada Addis of Dry Hill and Frank Burley and Clarence Burley of the Swaugertown road. There are 10 grandchildren. John Burley died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alta Klosterman at Hyndman, on Monday, May 20, aged 79 years. He is survived by six daughters and four sons: Mrs. Mary Baker of Cumberland, Mrs. Louvienia Cook and Mrs. George W. Evans, of Pittsburgh; John Burley of Connellsville, Harry Burley of Meyersdale, Mrs. Harvey Wineland of Ellerslie, Mrs. William Shroyer, Mrs. Alta Klosterman, Norman and Perry Burley, of Hyndman. He leaves a brother and sister: Nelson Burley of Ellerslie and Mrs. Sarah Scritchfield of Sulphur Springs. The funeral services were conducted in the United Evangelical Church, Hyndman, Wednesday afternoon. Interment was made in the Hyndman Cemetery. The Bedford Gazette, May 24, 1912
