"FALL FROM CAR KILLS EX-MANSFIELD GIRL"

"Mrs. William Vaszily, 28, Chicago, former Mansfield resident, was killed instantly at 9:30 p.m. Sunday when she fell out of an auto driven by her husband on state road 2, two miles south of Mansfield."

"Mr. and Mrs. Vaszily had spent the weekend visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hayes, near Galesville and had started home when the accident occured. In some unknown manner the car door came open and Mrs. Vaszily fell to the pavement. The body was removed to the House funeral home in Mansfield where an inquest was held at 2 p.m. Monday by acting coroner, S. E. Funk, Monticello."

"From the evidence presented, the jury found that death of Mrs. Vaszily was caused from an accidental fall from a moving vehicle. R. F. Parsons was foreman of the jury."

"Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the House funeral home with Monsignor C. J. Higgins of Champaign officiating. Burial was made in Mansfield cemetery."

"Mrs. Vaszily, the former Norma Hayes, was born Nov. 19. 1924, near Galesville, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hayes, Mansfield. She graduated from Mansfield high school in 1942 and attended Champaign Business college."

"She later worked as a stenographer in Bloomington and Chicago. In 1946 she went overseas for the U.S. government work in Berlin, Germany. She met her husband who was in the army there and they were married May 29, 1947 in Vienna, Austria. They returned to the United States in 1948 and had been living in Chicago."

"Besides her husband and parents, she leaves a brother, John, near Mansfield; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Noecker, Monticello."

"Chester Dewey Hayes, 70, of rural Mansfield was dead on arrival 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11, 1969 at Kirby Hospital."

"Born near Galesville on Aug. 6, 1899, he was the son of John and Lulu Steele Hayes. He married Hazel Fern Hosler June 8, 1920 in Decatur."

"Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife; son John W., RFD, Mansfield; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Mary Lou) Noecker, Jacksonville; two brothers, Tom, White Heath and Leslie, Pontiac; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one daughter, Mrs. Norma Mae Vaziley, who died in 1952 at the age of 29, preceded him in death."

"A retired farmer, Mr. Hayes lived his entire life in the Galesville, Mansfield area. He was a member of the Galesville United Methodist Church and of the Modern Woodmen of America."

"Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mackey Funeral Home. Services were held at the Home on Thursday at 10:30, with burial at Mansfield."

"Hazel Fern Hayes, 89, of Monticello, formerly of Mansfield, died 6 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 1989 in Passavant Area Hospital, Jacksonville."

"Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, in Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery."

"Mrs. Hayes was born Aug. 3, 1899 in Piatt County, daughter of William and Mary McKenzie Hosler. She married Chester D. Hayes June 20, 1920 at Decatur. He died Aug. 11, 1969."

"Surviving are her son, John W. "Jack" Hayes of Mansfield; daughter, Mrs. Don (Mary Lou) Noecker of Jacsonville; brother, Dale Hosler of Penfield; sister, Laura (sic) Catlin of Monticello; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren."

"SERVICES HELD FOR WILLIAM HOSLER"

"Funeral services were held for William Hosler, 75, at the Bauman Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 9, Rev. Andrew J. Dzuryo, Pastor of St. Philomenias' (sic) catholic church officiating. The body was interred in the Monticello cemetery."

"Mr. Hoser (sic) who had been a life long resident of Piatt county died at his home on January 7. He had suffered a stroke in May 1944 and had been confined to his home since that time."

"He was born near Monticello on June 11, 1872, the son of Jeff and Carolyn Hosler. He married Mary Jane (sic) McKinzie (sic) at Decatur on June 27, 1894."

"He is survived by his wife, one brother, Jess Hosler of Monticello, two sons, Charles Hosler of Monticello, and Dale Hosler of Rossville; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hayes and Mrs. Hazel Hayes of Mansfield, Mrs. Velta Schubert of Houghton, Michigan, and Mrs. Lora Catlin of Monticello; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Cecil, passed away in October 1946."

They has 9 children: Benjamin Francis, Michael Edward, Sarah, Nancy Maria, James Jacob Wilson, Charles Henry, Mary Agnes (Maria), Margaret Melissa and Lewis Curtis (Louis) McKenzie.
Lewis married 2nd 9 Jun 1883 Sarah Catherine Hissong. They had one child: Joseph E. McKenzie.

"LEWIS MCKENZIE DIES AT HOME"

"Lewis McKenzie died at his home two miles west of Moccasin, Friday morning at 6 o'clock, Jan. 5, 1917. He was 79 years old at the time of his death."

"Mr. McKenzie was born in Knox Co., Ohio, Sept. 23, 1837 and came to Illinois when he was but 10 years old together with his father, mother, two brothers and one sister.* From this family the sister, Mrs. Katie Durbin, is the only one living. His brother Frank having gone to the home of God last February."

"The first brother, John, died about 70 years ago and was the first person to be buried in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery."

"Mr. McKenzie was married the second time. His first wife was Miss Normanda Logue of Effingham Co. To this union were born nine children. Benny, the oldest boy, and Sarah, the oldest girl, died years ago. The surviving children of this union are: Edward McKenzie and Mrs. William Hosler, Monticello, Mrs. Saint Doty and James McKenzie, Lovington, Mrs. J.D. Rhodes, Avena, Charles McKenzie, Altamont and Curtis McKenzie, Beecher City, Illinois."

"His second marriage was to Mrs. Sarah Dial, who remains after him. One boy, Joseph, was the only child born to them."

"Mr. McKenzie was a good Christian man having lived and died a good Catholic and besides his wife and children, he leaves many relatives and friends to mourn his departure."

"He was buried at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, the funeral being preached by Rev. Father Walsh, of Altamont, Illinois."
