    "Thomas Denton Elder, 78, died at his home here, 301 Ridgeway Avenue, last night after being ill since January with a heart ailment."

    "Born the year of 1856 in Illinois, (the) deceased moved to Missouri in 1880 and since that time had made his home in this vicinity. His wife, Mrs. Hettie Marie Elder, preceded him in death by several years."

    "Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. L. C. Perkins, Mrs. C. E. Gray, and Mrs. Will Carnes, all of Columbia; and six sons, M. E., Earl, J. B., W.     "Mrs. T. D. Elder died last night at 8:10 at her home, 301 Ridgway avenue, of cancer."

    "Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, January 22, at the Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church by the Rev. P. P. Taylor at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be at Midway."

    "Mrs. Elder is survived by her husband and nine children, who are: William, T. D., Samuel, Marion, Earl, J. B., and Mrs. Mary Wainscott, Mrs. Bessie Perkins and Mrs. Maggie Gray. Four brothers and two sisters also survive. The brothers are: Henry McKenzie, John McKenzie, Frank McKenzie and Ed McKenzie. The sisters are Mrs. Amadia (sic--Amanda) Small and Mrs. Dena Baldwin. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive."

    JOHN B. MCKENZIE DIED FROM AUTO ACCIDENT

    "John B. McKenzie, an old and well-known citizen of Boone county, died this morning at 1 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maria Elder, three miles west of Columbia. His death was due in part to an injury received about two weeks ago when the car of a tourist traveling the State Highway struck him."

    "Deceased was 80 years of age. He was a native of Ohio, but he had been living in Boone county for a number of years. Four sons, Henry and John, of Columbia; Frank of Glasgow; Edward, of Rocheport; three daughters, Mrs. Diana Bolden, of Litchfield, Ill; Mrs. Amanda Small, Centralia, and Mrs. Martha Elder, of Boone county, survive him."

    "Mrs. Matilda McKinzie died at her home in Rocheport at 2 o'clock Saturday morning, August 16, of cancer. She was laid at rest in the Rocheport cemetery."
