She was born May 1, 1878, in Cumberland Valley, a daughter of Charles and Mary (Welsh) Shaffer. She was married to Norman Burley who preceded her in death. Surviving are a son Raymond of Rockwood and four brothers, Ralph Shaffer and Noble Shaffer of Hyndman, Oscar and Charles Shaffer of Cumberland, and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Miller and Mrs. Hulda Leydig, both of Hyndman, as well as two grandchildren. She was a member of the EUB Church. Funeral services Friday, 2 p.m. in Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, the Rev. J. R. Peterson officiating, with interment in Hyndman Cemetery.
