- Ernest Walter Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fannie Garlitz Wagner, of Salisbury, died very suddenly in Elwood City, Lawrence County, Wednesday of last week where he had for some time been employed. He was a native of Salisbury, having been born here Oct. 17, 1906, and here grew to manhood. His age was 36 years and 24 days. During recent years he resided a portion of the time in Maryland and West Virginia, and also within the last year was living in Salisbury, when he was drafted to serve in the Army, but was rejected because of a bad heart condition, and that ailment is supposed to have brought on his death. His body was prepared for burial by an Elwood City mortician and from there was brought to the home of his parents in Salisbury, by Stanley M. Thomas, the well-known Salisbury mortician. In addition to his parents, the deceased is also survived by three brothers and four sisters, namely, Earl of Somerset; Harry of Uniontown; Lee of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Mary Gonder, of Ligonier; Mrs. Lillian Cochrane of Leckrone; Miss Florence Wagner of Somerset, and Miss Blanche Wagner of Johnstown. Funeral services were conducted at the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wagner, last Friday, at 3:00 o'clock p.m., by Rev. Ira S. Monn. Burial was in the Salisbury Odd Fellows Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, local mortician.Meyersdale Republican, November 19, 1942
