- CLEARVILLE, Pa. — Cynthia Anne Whittington, 56, of Clearville, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at her home.
Born June 29, 1956, in Cumberland, Mrs. Whittington was the daughter of the late Richard B. Briner and Helen (Logston) Briner. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Angela L. Long; and her niece, Angela L. Emerick.
An employee of Wal-Mart for 20 years, Cynthia was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid equestrian.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Rodger Dale Whittington; her daughters, Heather Anne Dicks and Crystal Gale Whittington and her grandson, Patrick Meyers, all of Cumberland. She also leaves behind her step-daughters, Leah Chapman and April Craig; her step-grandsons, Todd Chapman and Joseph Craig; and her sisters, Christina Lease, Keyser, W.Va., Pamela Layman, Dianna Smith, Patricia Emerick, all of Cumberland, and Regina Lease, Barton.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Shrine, on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Father Greg Chervenak, O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Autism Speaks, 8025 McKnight Road, Suite 301, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
