- FROSTBURG — Susan "Marlene" Broadwater, 60, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at her residence. Born June 21, 1949 in Eckhart, Susan was the daughter of Edith Kitzmiller, Frostburg, and the late Lawrence Minnick. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Thomas Scarpelli and Angela (Minnick) Scarpelli; and one brother, Jerry Scarpelli. Ms. Broadwater was a homemaker. Susan was Catholic by faith. Ms. Broadwater is survived by two daughters, Kari Gomer, Eckhart and Kelly Cookshank, Fort Seal, Okla.; two sons, Kevin Wright and wife Elonda, Grantsville and Keith Miller, Eckhart; five grandchildren, C.J. Gomer, Angela Gomer, Lexi Cookshank, Lexi Wright and Holden Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and 13 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
