- MILFORD, Del. — George Junior Minnick, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born Oct. 1, 1938, in Frostburg, George was the son of the late George C. and Genevieve (Wilt) Minnick. He was a plumber/dispatcher for many years with Vito Plumbing. He had also worked with Coar and Clark, George Sherman Corporation, and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, and seasonally with Cape Henlopen State Park. George was a Navy veteran and life member of Milton VFW Post 6984 and the Loyal Order of Moose in Harrington. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. George was active in the Landover Hills Boys and Girls Club, coached football, baseball, attended many soccer games and participated in many special events. He also enjoyed country western music, antiques and watching the Redskins. He is survived by his companion, Koretta Prettyman; and her children, Mark and Melanie Hudson and Debbie Donaway; his son, George Clifford Minnick and a daughter, Deborah Renee (Minnick) Plank; a sister, Rose Marie (Minnick) Fresh; a brother, Emory Minnick and five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his dog, Penny and many friends. The funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, Del. Burial was at Harbeson Cemetery.
