- FROSTBURG - Mrs. Ethel E. Beck, 80, formerly of 86 Meshach, Frostburg Village, recently a resident of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1989, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born Aug. 10, 1909, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lydia (Martin) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Beck. Mrs. Beck was the former owner and operator of Mom Beck’s Restaurant, Cumberland, and attended the Harvest Labor Chapel, Frostburg. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are one son, Leonard DeVore Jr., Baltimore; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Rasmussen, Luck, Wis.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Wednesday at 11 a m. by the Rev. T. William Preston. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Times-News, September 11, 1989
