- August 14, 2008, Cumberland Times-News ~ FINZEL - Dale Jeffrey Baker, 64, of Finzel, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at the Braddock Hospital. Born Nov. 25, 1943, in Zihlman, he was the son of the late Carl Baker and Edith "Dee Dee" (Haupt) Baker. Mr. Baker was a loader operator with the Clise Coal Company. Dale was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Route 40 West. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sheila (Wilhelm) Baker; one daughter, Misty Broadwater and husband Eric of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Alexis and Bryce Broadwater who were the apples of his eye; one brother, Carl Eugene "Sonny" Baker and wife Martha of Finzel; one sister, Doris Diane Rosenberger and husband Kenneth of Finzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Route 40W, west of Frostburg, on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel C. Agnew officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Blocher Cemetery, Avilton. Pallbearers will be Todd Burdock, Tirrell Burdock, Chris Rowe, Brian Ritchey, Jesse Rosenberger and Mark Rodeheaver. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 16864 National Pike, Frostburg, MD 21532.
