Survived by these children, William J., married to the former Joan Triscilla, Illinois; Ruth Hutzell, married to Lloyd, Fairhope; Roger L. Sr., married to the former Elizabeth Hummel, Berlin; Edward E., married to the former Karen Lohr, Schellsburg; Alfred L., married to the former Laura Emerick, Berlin; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brother of Merle Caton, Colorado Springs; Harry Caton, New Mexico; Ann O’Baker, Virginia Mostoller, Ona Gerhardt, all of Friedens; Samuel Caton, Stoystown; Robert Caton, Meyersdale; and Owen Caton, Berlin. He was a World War II Army veteran and an equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 66. Member of the Somerset Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; American Legion Post 445, Berlin; and VFW Post 554, Somerset. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching baseball. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday. Branch President Steve Snyder and the Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment Sarver Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Post 445, Berlin, PA 15530 or to Somerset Ambulance Association 115 Wood Duck Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
