- LAVALE - Lillian Elizabeth Tyree, 88, of LaVale, died on Thursday, March 31, 2005, at her home. Born Dec. 5, 1916, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Crosby and Anna Alice (McMullen) Crosby. Mrs. Tyree was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward "Lou" Tyree, Sept. 19, 1981; and a grandson, Brogan Hillegas. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Retired from the Allegany County Board of Education, Mrs. Tyree was a member of the Park Place United Methodist Church; the AARP; the Senior Citizens of Cresaptown; and was a volunteer employee at the Sacred Heart Hospital for 23 years. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Cover and husband Richard, LaVale, and Barbara Blank and husband Bill, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Cathy Blank Long and husband Forest, Sacramento, Calif., Daniel Blank and wife Cindy, Mount Savage, LuAnn Lewis, LaVale, and Rick Cover, Lewisburg, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Blank, Brandon Blank, Blake Hillegas, Breyer Hillegas, and Bronwen Lewis. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (<http://www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com)> on Sunday, April 3, 2005, from 3 to 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, April 4, 2005, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating. Interment will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
She was buried on 4 Apr 2005 in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Allegany Co., Maryland.
