- Virgil Daniel Lowery, 60, Hyndman RD 1, died at the Cumberland Hospital, Tuesday, January 9, 1968. He was born June 19, 1907, a son of the late Noah and Annie (Clites) Lowery. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Hosselrode and three children, Mrs. Kathleen Emerick and Mrs. Sandra Mallery both of Hyndman RD 1, and Clyde Lowery of Wayne, Mich.; three brothers, Harvey and Alvin, both of Hyndman RD 1 and Orville of Ellerslie, Md.; and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Shroyer of Ellerslie, Md. Also surviving are five grandchildren. He was a retired employe of Celanese, a member of the Wills Creek Methodist Church and the P:O.S. of A. of Ellerslie. He was a trustee and a member of the official board of the church. Funeral services Friday, January 12 at 2 p.m. from the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Milton M. Benny Jr. officiating. Burial in the Porter Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Bedford Gazette, January 10, 1968
