- CUMBERLAND — Harold Herbert Logsdon Sr., 76, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 17, 1920, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late Herbert and Flora (Hansel) Logsdon. Mr. Logsdon was a retired electrician working with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 307. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion, Fort Cumberland Post 13; member of the Barrellville Outdoor Club; and member and past president of the Eckhart Square Circle. Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Lannon) Logsdon; two sons, Harold H. Logsdon Jr. and wife Vivian, Cresaptown, and Steven R. Logsdon, Cumberland; two daughters, Ruth Ann Scaletta and husband Ronald, Lincolnton, Ga., and Debra S. Luttrell and husband Stephen, Pace, Fla.; one sister, Leona Fazenbaker, Baltimore; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland. A memorial service will be conducted by members of Local 307 on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Vance Pastorius, OFM, Cap., as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Cumberland Times-News, Thursday, August 7, 1997
