- LONACONING — Thomas Junior Richardson, 82, of Lower Georges Creek Rd., Lonaconing, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born Dec. 7, 1923, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late David Oscar Richardson and Ruth Mae (Clark) Richardson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Richardson, Jack Richardson, and Bob Richardson. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II, where he was a member of the 238 Combat Engineers. He was a former member of the Moscow Church of the Nazarene, Moscow, and the Georges Creek Valley Lodge 161 A.F. & A.M., Lonaconing. He also was a graduate of Frostburg State University, Frostburg, and West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va. He was a retired school teacher from Beall Junior High School, Frostburg, and he prepared income taxes. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jane (Hyde) Richardson, Lonaconing; one son, Randall Thomas Richardson, Lonaconing; and one sister, Pauline Rankin, Westernport. Family and friends will be received at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Arthur Evans officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
