- MOUNT SAVAGE — Clarence Edward “Ed” Izzett, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Ed was born March 1, 1948, to the late Kilgore Izzett and Emma Pearl Folk. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Fedder and two brothers, Gerald Izzett and Paul Izzett. Mr. Izzett was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172 in Cumberland, where he served on the Honor Guard. Ed worked a variety of jobs and was a jack of all trades, having worked in construction and formerly at Sears as a small engine mechanic. Surviving are his children, NiCole Ritchey, of Andrews, S.C., Ryan Ritchey, of Mount Savage, Wendy Izzett Robbins, of Silver Spring, Edward Izzett, Cathy Izzett Sikora, and Sarah Izzett Sikora; grandchildren, Marleigh Stone, Tyler Stephens, Aysia Stephens, Cochise Stephens and Sheridan Caruso. Also surviving are a sister, Janet Thompson, of Frostburg and a brother, Kilgore Izzett Jr., of Baltimore. In accordance with his wishes, Ed was cremated. Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Roger Long officiating with members of the Vietnam Veterans Honor Guard presenting military honors.
