He was born March 8, 1914, in Garrett, a son of the late Hiram and Mary (Gardner) Hostetler. Survived by his widow, the former Irene Lindeman; these children: Joyce, wife of Allen Chubb of Manilla, the Philippines; Lois, wife of Charles Bartholf, Gainesburg, Md.; four grandchildren. He was a brother of: Leroy, David, James, all of Ravenna, Ohio; George of Rhode Island; Myrtle Whorrell and Mary Alice Miller, both of Garrett; Jane Ansell of Rockwood; and Pansy Bubner of Stoystown. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale Moose and a retired Meyersdale Borough foreman. Friends will be received in the Leckemby Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday, where services will be Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Pamela Armstrong. Interment, Union Cemetery.
