Thomas' occupation in the 1900 census is listed as flagman for the RR.
Thomas was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Cumberland, on September 4, 1942 in
Area 90, Lot 1, Grave B. Burial was handled by Zeigler Funeral Home.
The Pioneer Hist. Society in Bedford, PA has information on Thomas
Buchanan's burial, reported in "Zeigler Funeral Home, Book II" The Zeigler Funeral Home is located in Hyndman, PA, just north of Ellerslie, MD.:

Thomas' "Record of Funeral" dtd 1/9/1942 further reported: Death at 8:30
PM 1/9/1942 age 73y 0m 11d Place of death Allegany Hospital (Cumberland,

Thomas E. Buchanan, 73, Ellerslie, died last night in Allegany Hopital,
where he had been a patient since Saturday. Mr. Buchanan, son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas G. Buchanan, employed by the Pennsylvania Rairoad 49 year,
retired five years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are
his widow, the former Lola Worsing, and two sons, Lester K., Bay City,
Mich., and Russell E. New York; one brother Harry Buchanan, Ford City, Pa.; and
sister, Mrs. Hattie Spooner, Hammond, Ind. Funeral services will be
conducted Friday by the Rev. Thomas W. Kem. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
