NELLIE JOHNSON DIES AT 43
"Mrs. Nellie Johnson, 43, route 1, Murphysboro, died at St. Andrew's hospital at 5:30 a.m. today after a four-month illness with a heart ailment."
"Mrs. Johnson was born in Vandalia and moved to Jackson county 26 years ago. She married Austin Johnson in Murphysboro in 1924. She was a member of the First Christian church in Murphysboro."
"She leaves her husband; a son, Austin Floyd Johnson of Murphysboro; a daughter, Mrs. Jacob Whitecotton, Herrin; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Nance of Murphysboro; two brothers, Willard Nance of Peoria, and Roy Nance of Gorham; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Williams, Carterville; Mrs. Elmer Clover, Murphysboro; and Mrs. Mack Allison, Pomona; and four grandchildren."
