She returned to Decatur for her other years of high school, and after graduating entered Millikin University where she received a B.A. degree in 1933. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and was very active in all campus activities. She served as president of her sorority, the French Club, Girls Athletics and of Pan Hellenic."
