- GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Mrs. Katharine C. Beatty, 71, of 42 North Washington St., died early Friday morning at Gilford Convalasarium near Chambersburg after a long illness. Born in Franklin County she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie McElroy McKenzie. She was a member of United Church of Christ of Greencastle. She is survived by her husband, Dwight N. Beatty; the following children: Mrs. Earl Wagner, Chambersburg, Rt. 2; John W. Chamberlin, Chambersburg, Rt. 5; Norman G. Chamberlin, Baltimore; Frank S. Chamberlin, Ortanna, Pa.; Mrs. John Wilson, Waynesboro; Stanley C. Chamberlin, Greencastle, Rt. 2; Mrs. Everett Miller, Chambersburg, Rt. 1; Glenn E. Chamberlin, Greencaslle, Rt. 2; step-children; Marshall Beatty, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Gail Mongan, Funkstown; Mrs. Ray Etter, Greencastle; brothers, Charles McKenzie, Scotland, Pa.; Roy McKenzie, Chambersburg; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from Zimmerman Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Ralph S. Geiman officiating. Burial will be in Price's Cemetery near Waynesboro.
