- CUMBERLAND - Shirley Ann Davis, 71, of Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord and her parents on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born July 5th, 1942 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Margery V. (Nixon) Davis. She is preceded in death by a sister, Margery V. Wancowicz. Shirley enjoyed attending the Cumberland Covenant House Adult Day Care. She had a child-like faith in God and attended the Cumberland Pentecostal Holiness Church. Shirley mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her sisters; Sandra K. McKenzie and husband Terry, Cumberland, Md., Judy M. Duckworth and husband Tommy, Westernport, Md., brothers; Charles F. Davis and wife Alice, Hope Mills, NC., William L. Davis and wife Vicky, Keyser, WV., Clarence E. Nixon and wife Barbara, Hagerstown, Md., and also her uncle; John “Ed” Nixon, Middletown, Md., and aunt; Rita Davis, Cumberland, Md. Shirley was a special Aunt to Tammy Holt, Charlie Davis, Amanda Davis and fiancée' Matt Brown, Jacqueline Browning and husband Blake, Donna Llewellyn and husband Scott, Angela Lipscomb and husband Rodney. She was a special Great-Aunt to Madison and Haley Llewellyn. Shirley is also survived by her devoted caregivers “The Clifford Fraembs Family” and her friends at Mary Poling's residence. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave. (www.scarpellifh.com) on Tuesday, January 7th, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. following visitation with the Rev. Rodney Casteel officiating. Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
