- L. Dewey Shepherd – L. Dewey Shepherd, 84, of 12716-A Bowling Street, Bowling Green, died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. Born in Rawlings, he was a son of the late Henry and Laverna (McKenzie) Shepherd. His first wife, Margaret Lola (Shanholtz) preceded him in death. He was a retired Celanese Fibers Company employee and a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Estaline (Eshbaugh) Shepherd; five daughters, Mrs. Madeline Fletcher, Mrs. Leola Metz, both of Cresaptown; Mrs. Betty Custer, Burlington, N.J.; Mrs. Dorothy Schraa, Alexandria, Va.; and Mrs. Doris Jeffries, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Charles W. Shepherd, Warren, Mich.; Paul R. Shepherd, Burlington, N. J.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mildred Shobe, Potomac park; Mrs. Charlotte Deneen, Hinkle Road; five stepsons, Edward Hinkle, Fort Ashby; Tip Hinkle, here; Ray James, Wiley Ford; Henry James, Granview, Kan.; Thomas James of Virginia; a brother, George Shepherd, Carpenter’s Addition, Ridgeley; 32 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
