His wife, Mrs. Mary (Lavin) Closterman, preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fred Theis, Ashtabula, Ohio, and Mrs. Jon Shultz, Meyersdale. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, Maryland. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church by Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder. Interment, the parish cemetery. The Republic, March 22, 1984
