FROSTBURG - Mrs. Sadie Smith, 84, of 41 Mill Street, died Friday night in the National Institutes of Health where she had been a patient since April. She had been ill for two years. Born in Hoffman, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Folk) Lavin. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the church. She is survived by three sons, Cecil Smith, Frostburg; Eugene Smith, Akron, Ohio; and Dale F. Smith, Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary McElfish, LaVale; and Mrs. Paul Warn, Akron, Ohio; a sister, Miss Edith Lavin, Frostburg; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 1 to 3 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be conducted in the funeral home tomorrow at 7:30 p. m.
