- KEYSER, W.Va. - Harold W. McKenzie, 71, of 1360 Terri Street, Keyser, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1993, at the Sudbury General Hospital, Sudbury, Canada. Born on Nov. 30, 1921 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Iva L. (Bittner) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and attended Allegany Community College and Potomac State College. A licensed funeral director in West Virginia and Maryland, he was an associate and former owner of the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser. He was an army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser; the United Methodist Men; Boyce Houser Post 41 American Legion, Keyser; VFW Post 6775 Queens Point, McCoole; Maryland State Funeral Director's Association; West Virginia State Funeral Director's Association, Tri State Funeral Director's Association; Keyser Lions Club; Valley View Hunting Club; Davis Lodge 51 AF & AM; Keyser Chapter 19 RAM; Damascus Commandry 23 K.T. ; Osiris Shrine Temple, Wheeling, W. Va.; Upper Potomac Shrine Club, Keyser; and the Scottish Rite, Wheeling. Surviving are his wife, Vivian F. (Filsinger) McKenzie; one son, James E. McKenzie and wife, Krista Ann, Lonaconing; one daughter, Jennie Lee DeHaven and husband, Glen, Saint Mary's, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Shawn M. DeHaven, Corey E. McKenzie, Ryan W. McKenzie, Bradley J. McKenzie; three sisters, Velma M. Smith, Frostburg; Grace Manley, Akron, Ohio, and Edith S. Taylor, LaVale. Friends will be received at the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Keyser, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Parker L. Hinzman, the Rev. S. D. Sawyers and the Rev. W. Ward Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery, Eckhart. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
