FROSTBURG - Ralph L. “Mack” McKenzie, 75, of 39 Bowery Street, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1991 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born June 4, 1916 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Iva (Bittner) McKenzie. His wife, Gertrude (Winner) McKenzie, died Aug. 3, 1990. Mr. McKenzie owned and operated Mac’s Frozen Custard and Grocery on Bowery Street for 20 years. He served with the Merchant Marine in World War II and attended Trinity Assembly of God in Midlothian. Mr. McKenzie was a member of Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion, Cumberland, and Frostburg Aerie 1273, Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by three sisters, Velma M. Smith, Frostburg; Grace Manley, Akron, Ohio; Edith Taylor, La Vale; one brother, Harold W. McKenzie, Keyser, W.Va.; and a number of nephews and nieces. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home. Services will be conducted there Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Tim McGregor. Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, near Cumberland.
