      In the name of God. Amen.

      I, Daniel Biggs, of the State of North Carolina and County of Martin, being
      in my perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this to be my last will
      and testament.

      First of all, I desire to commit my soul to God and my body to be buried in
      a Christian-like manner.

      As for the things of this life which it has pleased God to bless me with, I
      dispose of them in the following manner, viz:

      Item, I give unto my son Martin Biggs the following tract of land,
      beginning at the mouth of a small branch in the mill pond, running up the
      branch to a pine, thence rather east to a (line?) a corner (sic), thence a
      straight line to DAVID Gurganus'* line, thence along DAVID GURGANIS' line
      to Turkey Swamp, thence down the swamp to the beginning. Also one year-old
      colt.

      Item, I give unto my son MALOTHA B. Biggs the following tract of land,
      beginning at a new made corner in the Adkin Branch, thence (along?) the
      branch to the fork, thence up the right hand fork to DENNIS PEAL's line,
      thence along DENNIS PEAL'S line to DAVID GURGANIS' line, thence along DAVID
      GURGANIS' line to a new made corner, thence along a new made line to the
      beginning. Also one grey horse.

      Item, I give unto my daughter ANNA GURGANIS one cow, one bed and and
      furniture.

      Item, I give unto my daughter SINDA** Biggs one bed and furniture.

      I lend unto my beloved wife all within doors and without that has not been
      mentioned, [during] her lifetime or widowhood, and at her death or on
      marriage to be sold and equally divided between my three small children,
      HARVEY, BRIANT and NANCY Biggs.

      It is my desire and wish for HARVEY and BRIANT to (heir?) all the residue
      of my land that I have not mentioned.

      Lastly, it is my desire and wish that brother Joseph D. Biggs to be my
      executor. April the 17th, 1834.

      The foregoing instrument, purporting to be the last will and testament of
      Daniel Biggs, was exhibited in open court and proved by the oath of Noah
      Gurganus, a subscribing witness hereto, whereupon Joseph D. Biggs, the
      executor named herein, appeared before the Chairman of the Court and took
      the oath qualifying him thereto, and the will and probate ordered to be
      recorded.
