MOUNT AIRY — Ms. Allison Soojung Burkett, 26, of Mount Airy, died on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012. She was born on Oct. 17, 1985, in Pusan, Korea, she was the daughter of William Paul and Mary Jo Strong Burkett, of Mount Airy. She was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Poplar Springs, Mount Airy. She was a loving mother and homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Emma Josephine Burkett, of Mount Airy; her brother, Ryan S. Burkett, of Mount Airy; paternal grandparents, William R. and Verna A. Burkett, of Creasaptown; aunts, Marjorie J. Fazzalore and husband Rob, of Keyser, W.Va., Marge Palmer and husband Paul, of LaJolla, Calif., Dorothy Scharf and husband William, of Charlestown, W.Va. and Joan Sarfino and husband Gregory, of Bethesda; uncle William Wiltison, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joseph L. and A. Margaret Strong, and an aunt, Irene Wiltison. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1200 St. Michael's Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Burial will take place in the St. Michael's Church Cemetery, Poplar Springs. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of Carroll County, 255 Clifton Blvd., Suite 313, Westminster, MD 21157, in preparation for a foundation to be established in Allison's memory.
