- James E. McFarlane, 81, of 217 Glenn Street, died Friday in Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks. Born in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late William R. McFarlane and Clara (Shaw) McFarlane. He was a retired train dispatcher with the B&O Railroad and a member of Fort Cumberland Lodge 211, AF&AM; McKinley Chapter 12, Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rites Bodies, Ali Ghan Temple No. 1520; Salem Chapter 18, Antioch Commandery 6, and BPO Elks Lodge 63. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Clara Shaw (McFarlane) Paulus, this city. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m. at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard E. Manning officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Hanson Willison, Joseph H. Wagoner, Robert C. Oyer, Donald M. Malott, Robert J. Martin and Richard E. Sluss.
