- Fred H. Smith – Fred Henry Smith, 81 of 441 North Waverly Terrace, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Tuesday. He had been in ill health for two years. He was a native of the city and a son of the late Wolfgang and Magdelina (Weisenmiller) Smith. His wife, Anna L. (McKenzie) Smith, died in 1944. He was a retired car repairman for the B&O Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of railway Trainmen, and of the Order of Owls, Nest 90. Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Carl F. Smith, with whom he resided; a brother, George E. Smith, city; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hughes, city, and Mrs. Ella Hershberger, Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the George Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. Archie C. Prevatte, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Greenmount Cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times, Saturday, August 25, 1956
