Dear Sir: To all friends and relatives of Robert E. McClellan Jr., who passed away Sept. 19, 1984, we want to thank them for supporting the family in our hours of sorrow. Robert served in World War II, suffering many injuries in the Battle of the Bulge, was awarded the Purple Heart. He helped to keep America free. He had his problems as a veteran. He was a quiet person, bothered no one. He never saw a stranger. Children loved him. He left 27 nieces and nephews, 18 grandnieces and grandnephews, one daughter, two sons and four grandchildren. Our brother, Robert, never deserved the cruel, brutal beating he received from someone on Virginia Avenue Sept. 19, 1984. Robert was to testify as a witness on Sept. 24, 1984, which was postponed until October 18, 1984. Of course, he was dead before he could testify. Is there anyone in Cumberland curious as to what Robert would have testified? I sincerely hope the Virginia Avenue area gets their crimes solved before the federally-funded community program for restoration gives any federal money to that area. They certainly need a federally-funded program for investigation of crime and how it is handled. Sister of Robert E. McClellan Jr. One of the nine sisters. Elwanda McClellan Biggs, 8026 N.
