- Daniel HAAN was born on 29 Jun 1889 in Luxembourg. He died on 21 May 1960 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Daniel Haan, 70, of RD 5 Triple Lakes, was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday at Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Grand Duchess in Luxembourg, he was born June 29, 1889, a son of the late Michael and Teresa (Engle) Haan. Mr. Haan was a retired lumber inspector for the South Cumberland Planing Mill. He was a member of the Men's Club of the Salvation Army, the Cresaptown Methodist Church and was a Gold Star Father. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elsie E. (Lease) Haan, two sons, Daniel K. Haan, Cresaptown, and Douglas M. Haan, at home; two daughters, Miss Barbara A. Haan, Cumberland, and Miss Shirley E. Haan, Washington, and two grandchildren. The body is at the residence. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Cresaptown Methodist Church by Rev. Robert E. Bavender, pastor, and Captain Frederick Overton, of the Salvation Army. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
