- HAGERSTOWN - Donald Kenneth “Mac” McKenzie, 53, of 10828 Downsville Pike, died Monday, Jan. 27,1992 at his residence. Born June 2, 1938 in Cumberland, he was the son of Gladys (James) McKenzie, Hagerstown, and the late Donald Kenneth McKenzie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis (McKenzie) Hicks. Mr. McKenzie was employed with the Washington County Board of Education as a teacher for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He most recently taught at Western Heights. A member of the Calvary Grace Brethren Church, he was also a member of the National Education Association and the Washington County Teachers Association. In addition to his mother, survivors include one daughter, Donna Fields, Hagerstown; one son, David McKenzie, at home; one granddaughter, Jeanie Fields; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Services will be conducted there Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Joseph Downs.
