- INWOOD, W.Va. — Charles Kenneth Blauch, 92, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at the VA Medical Center of Martinsburg, in the palliative care unit. Born June 4, 1922, in Pinto, he was the son of Lester Kenneth Blauch and Alice Leona (McKenzie) Blauch. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nellie Barbara (Glencoe)?Blauch, of Davis. Mr. Blauch was one of Maryland’s first registered X-ray technologists. He worked over 35 years at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland. Upon retirement, he moved to Inwood. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Rice, of Inwood; grandson, John Rice and wife, Tracy; great-grandson, John Rice and fiance, Christin Bell; and great-great-grand-children, Sam Floyd, Riley and Colin; granddaughter, Tamara and husband, Paul Wingerd; great-grandchild, Drew Winstead and wife, Adrienne; great-great-granddaughter, Karynn Winstead; great-grandson, Collin Markle; granddaughter, Heather Pindell and companion, Eddie Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Blake Pindell and Teal Pindell. Mr. Blauch is also survived by a son, C. Ken Blauch II and wife, Janet, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; grandsons, Josh A. Blauch and wife, Tia, and Justin C. Blauch and wife, Megan; great-grandson, Michael Blauch; granddaughter, Harmony A. Ellis, of McMinnville, Ore., and husband, Omar; and great-grandchildren, Christian Aime and Ava Ellis. Charles Blauch was an Army veteran and a volunteer at the Martinsburg VAMC for more than 18 years. He was a longtime member of the Stephen City Mennonite Church where a memorial service was held.
