McKenzie, 79, of Shaft, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at his residence. Born August 29, 1928 in Shaft, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Emma (Croft) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his brother Samuel McKenzie; two sisters, Kathleen Wilson and Iona McKenzie; three half-brothers, Gilbert Beeman, Gurney Beeman and Charles McKenzie; and three half-sisters, Rosalee McKenzie, Virginia Carney, and Bonnie Delaney. Mr. McKenzie retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Company with 39 years of service. He belonged to the Shaft United Methodist Church and the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department. Born Aug. 29, 1928 in Shaft, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Emma (croft) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel McKenzie; two sisters, Kathleen Wilson and Iona McKenzie; three half-brothers, Gilbert Beeman, Gurney Beeman and Charles McKenzie; and three half-sisters, Rosalee McKenzie, Virginia Carney and Bonnie Delaney. Mr. McKenzie retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company with 39 years of service. He belonged to the Shaft United Methodist Church and the Shaft Volunteer Fire department. Survivors include his wife, Gladys (Skidmore) McKenzie; a step-daughter, Carol Lee Bradley and husband, Donald, Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; three grandsons, Douglas Bradley, Bryan Bradley and Eric Bradley; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including P.D. “Dan” Wilson, Cumberland and Mike Wilson, Severna park. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home with the Rev George Harpold officiating.
