A native of Frostburg, he was a son of the late John and Kathryn (Fisher) Evans, His wife, Regina (Weimer) Evans, preceded him in death. He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church and Local 4804, United Mine Workers. Mr. Evans was a retired coal miner. Survivors include two sons, George B. Evans, Endicott, N. Y., and .John S. Evans, Midlothian; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Patterson, Midlothian, and Mrs. Sandra Myers, Frostburg; a brother, Jacob Evans, Frostburg; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Frostburg, and 17 grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 16, 1963
