- OLDTOWN — Ruby Viola Cottrill, 93, Oldtown, formerly of Danville and Washington, D.C., died on Oct. 19, 2003, in the Allegany County Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Born Oct., 10, 1910, in North Bend, W.Va., she was preceded in death by her husband, Bartlett J. Cottrill; a daughter, Louise Wensell; three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son, Bartlett Cottrill and wife Mildred; grandchildren, Christine Shipe and husband Jesse, with whom she resided before entering the nursing home, Linda Dale Morgan and husband, DeSales, Laurel Morgan and husband David, and Sandi Sayers and Marc Wensell; five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and three sisters. Upon her request, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. She had her body donated to the Anatomy Board of Maryland. Cumberland Times-News, Wednesday, October 22, 2003
