- Bernadette T. BLAKE (Joseph Patrick-4, Harriet Catherine MCKENZIE-3, Joseph-2, John M.-1) was born about 1919. She died on 29 Jul 1969 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. MT. Savage - Mrs. Bernadette T. Deffenbaugh, 50, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital. She had been in failing health several years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Burkey) Blake. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the sodality of the church. She is survived by her husband, George A. Deffenbaugh, two sons, James and Thomas Deffenbaugh, here; three daughters, Mrs. William Guy, Newport, Mich.; Mrs. Gene Martz, Cresaptown; and Mrs. Frank Brailer, Jr., Chevy Chase; three brothers, Edward and Joseph A. Blake, Cumberland and Raymond Blake, Clio Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Boyle, Cumberland; Mrs. George Shaffer, here; and Sister Mary Gabriel, Baltimore, and 11 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church and interment will follow in the parish cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. The Cumberland News, July 30, 1969
