FROSTBURG — Margaret Harless, 79, of Frostburg, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center. Born Dec. 8, 1930, in Donora, Pa,, Margaret was the daughter of the late Julius Michael and Edna (Baer) Michael. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Harless; and one brother, Bertrand Michael. Mrs. Harless was a retired teacher with the Howard County Board of Education. In retirement, Margaret dedicated her time to being a poet/ writer historian, a nature lover and a preservationist. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Frostburg. She is survived by one brother, Joe Michael of Berkeley, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Anna Michael, of Frostburg; one niece, Martha Michael of Philadelphia, Pa.; one nephew, Steven Michael of San Francisco, Calif.; two aunts, Mary Baer of Frostburg, and Helen Duckworth of Westminster; and several cousins. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Michael’s Church, Frostburg, on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Msgr. James W. Hannon as celebrant. Internment will be in the Finzel Cemetery.
