- Robert J. BOLDEN was born about 1933. He died on 28 Jul 1959 in Walter Reed Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland. Specialist 5/c Robert J. Bolden, 26-year-old Finzel soldier, died yesterday in Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, from head injuries suffered in an accident at Fort George G. Meade. The young soldier suffered his injuries when he apparently fell from a second-floor porch of a barracks at Fort Meade. Authorities have not ruled on the cause of death. Bolden's body was found early Sunday morning by a sentry. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bolden, Finzel, he had attended Grantsville High School before enlisting in the armed forces. He received his basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. Later he was sent to Germany. After he returned to the United States he was discharged, later re-enlisted and was sent to Korea. He had been stationed at Fort Meade for nearly a year and was in charge of a warehouse there. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Oliver Bolden, Finzel; four sisters, Mrs. Merle Warner, who resides near Meyersdale, Pa.; Mrs. James Arnone, of near Frostburg; Mrs. Robert Dunn, Frostburg, and Miss Sylva Bolden, at home. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles Bolden, of near Meyersdale. The body will be returned to Frostburg. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 28, 1959
